just been thinking, about this family, you have dated a photo of have of edward, mary ann and sarah (my grandma ) and you seemed to think she was about 14 years old.
this would have been about 1890 . perhaps this photo was taken when edward and mary ann married.
.
it was a studio photo . so i am thinking special occasion. it seems to make sense.

Thanks everyone.
all of this has been really interesting.and i love the website for dating clothes.

i have been researching my mums side of the family since she died in 1998 , before the internet had any sort of facility to research. it was a lot more difficult then. also i have no relatives alive to ask  so have relied on photos and lists my mum made back in 1980 with names and dates of births. a real gold mine.

as they say you are never to old to  learn , and now being in my late seventies  it certainly is true.
