Completed Census Requests / Re: 1851 Yorkshire Lookup request please
« on: Monday 28 January 19 02:18 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Alison,

There was always the rumour in my family that they were from France and fled during the french revolution. Apparently quite wealthy with a Chateau and lots of paintings etc... When they fled they cut the paintings out of their frames and that was all they could bring to England. The french surname was something like De Burgh (spelling unknown). This info was all written down by a long ago deceased descendant.
A few of Thomas and Hannah's children have very french names as well.

I have a newspaper advertisement advertising their business B Brooks and Sons which states their connection to Paris, but i can't attached anything to this thread for some reason.... i will try PM it to you.

Some of the above info is old/incorrect after more research. Benjamin and Eliza married in 1843 in Lincolnshire where her family was originally from.

Hi,

I have John (possibly Jonathan) Schader married Catherine Sarah Franklin in 1810 in Great Yarmouth, daughter Catherine Franklin Schader born 1812. I have nothing else on the Schader's at all.

US Lookup Requests / 1920 and 1930 US Census Look up
« on: Saturday 07 November 09 10:19 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

Would someone be so kind as to look up Margaret Salkind living in Morris, New Jersey in 1920 and 1930. She was born in Ireland in about 1851. I am interested to see if her husband David is still alive (I know Margaret was still alive in 1930).

Thank you very much

Hi Jan,

Thank for that, not the right Obedience as she was still in England in 1836. Census said she was 112 yrs - seems very old but possible i guess...

cheers,
Tara
