Norfolk / Great Yarmouth New Cemetery *Completed*

My 3 x Great Grandmother is buried in Great Yarmouth New Cemetery in an unmarked grave. I am visiting Great Yarmouth next week and even though I know I won’t be able to find the exact location where she is buried, it would be nice to know roughly for when I visit. I have the burial record from the England & Scotland, Select Cemetery Registers which tells me she is buried in Section B, Grave Number 8 but I have no map to clarify where section B is. I am just wondering if there is a map of the graveyard available anywhere?

Many thanks

Norfolk Lookup Requests / Robert Grey/Gray Death Look up in Wroxham? *COMPLETED*
« on: Tuesday 23 March 21 15:02 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I am trying to find the GRO entry of death for my Great x 3 Grandmothers first husband. I have found the burial record in the Select Deaths and Burials, 1538-1991 but I cannot find the GRO entry.

His name was Robert Grey or could be Gray (I have seen both!) and he was buried in Wroxham on the 3rd September 1893 and I have it that he was 61 at the time of his death.

I am trying to gather as much info as I can about him and my Great x 3 Grandmother as I am convinced she went on to commit bigamy. She never appeared to live with him after the marriage and she ended up marrying someone else before Robert’s death.

I have searched the GRO both on Ancestry and the GRO website and I have come up with nothing even whilst using a broad search. He lived in Wroxham his entire life.

Many thanks for your help 🙂

Berkshire / Re: Burial or Cremation advice

Thanks all 🙂 I did wonder about asking the churchwarden if they had access to the burial registers, I know the years my relations died and the registration quarters for those years so that should narrow it down a bit. I was going to contact them anyway as I was hoping they would let me have a look round the church as it was locked last time I visited and so many of my relations would have used that church. It is a beautiful church, very picturesque.

Berkshire / Burial or Cremation advice
« on: Monday 01 March 21 12:08 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

My grandmother and her family were from Berkshire, later Oxfordshire due to border changes. I  travelled from where I live in Norfolk to Wootton Vale of White Horse where they lived a few years ago and found the graves of my Great Grandparents and one of my Grand Uncles. My question is, I am due to go back there in July (obviously dependent on how things go) and I am trying to find out whether my Grandmothers other brothers and sisters were buried or cremated. Three of them died before Wootton was changed to Oxfordshire: one in 1952, one in 1967 and one in 1969. I wanted to find out before I visit again so I can visit them if they have graves. I have checked all the usual websites and records on Ancestry for burials but haven’t been able to find anything. Is there any cremation records, I would be able to search?. If the burial records for Wootton are available to search as well that would be great as I would be able to find out if they had an unmarked grave.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me 🙂

Hi everyone, I wonder if you can help? I am struggling to find the death record of my 2 x Great Grandfather in the civil registration death index. I have found his burial record in the ‘ Norfolk, England, Church of England Deaths and Burials, 1813-1990’. His name was William Page, born in 1855, he died on the 7th July 1918 and was buried in Edgefield, July 13th 1918. His burial record says he was 64 but his gravestone says 63. At the time of death, he was living in Doughton, Norfolk.

Many thanks for any help you may be able to give me 😀
