Hi

Thanks for your reply, I would love to have copies of any of the old photos you may have, unfortunately the only ones I have are of my grandparents, Charles Corns & Marion Ross and some of their family.  If you would like to give me your direct email address I can scan some I think you may be interested in and send them direct.  My Corns/Ross family tree is also available to view on Ancestry.co.uk if you wish to take a look.  My email address is Myallmar@aol.com

Marion

Hi
Your right with Martin McGoldrick, I've checked him out he's the brother of Anthony Goldrick born 1873 who is Bridget's grandfather.  Martin changed his name when he went to the USA.

I'll check out that marriage you mention, I've not come across that before.

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry I meant to add that according to my information, I have a Golden marrying into the Goldrick name, but that some of the Goldricks changed their name back to Golden or to McGoldrick when they moved to different areas.

Hi

As far as I know Annie Marie stayed in Ballina, that's where her daughter Bridget was born and raised.  Bridget came over to England, to work in service, we think in the late 1930's or early 1940's, starting of in the Birmingam area before moving to Lancashire where she met and married my late father in law Harry Myall.  They married in 1947 in Worsley.  In doing the research I've noticed that the family go between Golden and Goldrick as often as the see fit.

Hi, I'm doing my husband's family tree and the line I'm following is Anthony Goldrick & Bridget Scott, who are the great grandparents of his mother.  The information I have on them is that one of their sons, Patrick Goulrick (Goldrick) married Bridget Dooher in 1867, in Co Mayo, one of their sons Anthony born 1873, married Winifred Golden in 1904 in Co Mayo.  Their daughter Annie Marie Goldrick born 1905, went on to have a daughter Bridget Goldrick (my husband's mother) in 1927.  No marriage certificate found so far for Annie Marie.  I have other information which I would like to exchange with anyone else searching this line of Goldrick/Golden

Hi Brendan

The only information I have regarding John Curran, my 3 x great grandfather, is that he was born about 1799 in Derry I think, he came to Scotland in the early 1800's and married Agnes McGregor who was born about 1811 in Glasgow.  I have his death as about 1863 but that is to be confirmed.  One of their children is Alexander Corns, my 2 x great grandfather, born about 1840 in Glasgow, married Mary Baird in Glasgow in 1863,  his death is listed as 1923 in Buckhaven, Fife, Scotland.  One of their children is Charles Corns, my great grandfather, born in Slamamman in 1874,  and he married Mary Selfridge born in Shotts in 1876.  So far I haven't been able to find out when or why John Curran/s came to Scotland and if the name change was a spelling mistake or intentional.  I've not done any checks on the Corns tree for a while, so the information I have regarding John Curran is limited.  I hope what I've written here is of help to you and look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Hi Caroline,
Thanks for your reply, I'll check with my niece to see what papers if any she has regarding her dad, there is the added problem that he had separated from the family a couple of years before his death so he may have taken his papers with him.

Hi

Thanks for the replies, but as the adopted person is now deceased and we already have the information you say we would find at Scotland's people, in Edinburgh, it seems my niece will have to give up that route of enquiry.

Thanks again

Marion
