Completed Census Requests / Burchetts in Canterbury - st mary Bredin
« on: Wednesday 24 August 11 23:12 BST (UK)  »
I have brickwalled for sometime now with the mother (Lucy unknown b 1810 Sheperdswell kent ) and father unknown of Edwin George Burchett born St Mary Bredin. I can assume from the 1841 cencus that Lucy was widowed around 1840 as edwin has a 1 year old sister lucy /Jane . I can find no record of marriage to unknown father or death of same.
Lucy re married twicw I think, marrying Joseph Hirst and having more children, dying in 1855.

Thanks

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / Re: 1871 census gaps

Thank you so much carol and K. Helpful stuff indeed, and so swift !It's one of those things where it's sort of coming together, although the 3 Johns married Marys ,one possibly married more than 1 and they shared the same proffession.Any how I'm getting there, and currently have about 30 sheets of A4 in organised ( promise ) chaos. I  think I messed up somewhere down the line and am unpicking to re-knit . Thanks again.

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / 1871 census gaps
« on: Tuesday 17 May 11 13:06 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone know the extent of the 1871 census in Londons dockyards ? I have whole swathes of family 'missing' and resorted to address look ups from marriage banns, etc which again don't seem to appear. Would large areas of the census have been 'lost' .I have brickwalled completely as a result as there are 3 John Dinmores all born around the same time - 1820's in the same area and the 1871 is my missing link.Thankyou :-\

Dear Genecat,
i am currently researching my great grandmother who was here in 1881. I know her family were in the 66th berkshire regiment but have come up against a brick wall.Have you had any luck with researching here. I would love to know .
