Thanks for your help.

I have Thomas listed as a Coachman now - in 1918 Lennon Wylie:
http://www.lennonwylie.co.uk/wyzcomplete1918.htm
5 Walmer Street, Belfast
This is the same address his wife was at in the 1911 census return.  Interestingly the family is not resident there in the 1910 Lennon Wylie (I can't find them).
I have relooked at the 1911 census and Annie states they have been married 18 years - making the marriage 1893.  Still don't know where though!

Any ideas gratefully received.

Thanks for ruling that one out.  I need to take some time to think what next ...!

I've not got anywhere with marriages in Walsall or even anywhere in between.  It may be that they are married in N Ireland but she was widowed in England.  So hard to know ... nothing in the family knowledge about it at all.
Here is a marriage in Antrim for Thomas Hall in 1893 - but as there are an uneven number of names I'm not sure what to make of it:

Can you take a look and let me know what you think?  Marriages appear to be particularly perplexing in this research.

Yes - Annie's second name on the birth certificates is Jordan (not Jorden) but this could be the registrar's interpretation.  Her signature is Annie J. Hall!!

Not sure how we get from the 1891 census to 1893.  I am drawing a blank at marriage records anywhere.

I have found Annie J Price, right age, as a domestic servant (cook) though not in Leeds.  It could be though that this is the right one:

What do you think?

Thanks.  Yes i think this is Thomas in Leeds too - in fact I am virtually certain on this one.  I have been attempting to search the marriage index but am getting nowhere fast.  You're being so helpful, thanks.

Have relooked at the birth certificate I have for my Grandfather.  He was born in Ballydugan specifically, and both parents were resident at the time.  His father's occupation is groom (occupation of Thomas - interestingly he is just Thomas not Thomas William).
Annie is definitely Annie Jordan Hall - oddly enough the e in Jorden is from my father's middle name - and may not be right if Annie is down as Annie Jordan Hall formerly Price.  This may not, of course, be the name of her mother's family - but I can't think of any other reason for it.  Was hoping to get some inspiration but failing.

I'm not doing well with the censuses either - there is a James and Frances but her age is much older.  Not a great deal of other stuff. Not sure at all.  It's such a common set of names ...

Antrim / Re: Help? Hall in Down/Antrim - how on earth do I get beyond the 1901 census?

RosemaryJoan - such a lot of help, thanks!
I had someone look at the records in Belfast (not managed to get there) and they got the birth dates and places for me for the complete list of children I have on ancestry.  That is how I got Annie Jorden Price as my great grandmother's maiden name.  The same person looked at the records for marriages - however I suspect that there may be problems with the records as I know not everything is available.  They said there was no record of the marriage at PRONI ... but could there be additional records in local churches?  Not sure.  Downpatrick does seem to be the place.

I think the Price link seems right - and I will pursue that.  Thanks so much.  Still at a loss regarding Thomas William Hall ... it just makes it more intriguing.
