« on: Tuesday 26 January 10 22:57 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Thank you for your reply :)
I must admit i have not been on Rootschat for a long time, I have had other problems to deal with but I am still very Interested
and yes I know the name Banyard well from Leicester Aunt Annie was My grandmother's Etty's sister I remember Meeting Aunt Annie and Ron and Peggy many times when I was small I have to admit I have not spoken to either Ron or Peggy since my Dad & Mum died they could not come to either funeral as Ron was poorly
and i must admit i have lost touch since.
Etty's farther was indeed John Henry Goodman and Anna Green I believe they are berried in The Broardway cemetery in Peterborough as are James Willie & Elizabeth Ann Ashton nee sykes I have managed to do quite a lot of research over the years but have to admit since my wife June died acouple of years ago  I lost momentum.
my Email address is jimashton7704hbs@aol.com  if you would like to Email me direct

Hi Again steve
thanks for your reply, i would appreciate anything you may have with regard to Percy, I of course will recrocate with the info I have of wich there is quite a lot, I have his MM and the citation he recieved with it, although it is to big for me to scan. although i can get Photocopies made My brother works at a School in the print shop so coppies are no problem if you would like one but i would have to send it snail mail but that isnt a problem either.
think i did give you my email ad but just in case i didn't it is
jimashton7704hbs@aol.com

I did not know Percy was employed in the Ministry of Labour the only information i do have is that he was looking to get employment as a traveling Salesman after his war service obviously that didnt happen, I believe he died of TB in the 20's ( I believe cought during the war in France ) and i believe he is burried in the family grave in the Broardway Cemetery in Peterborough ( Plot 503 ) Along with his eldest Sister Fanny Elizabeth Ashton another very noteworthy Peterborough Resident Fanny died a 100 years ago in July she was a local Teacher at the Boys School from my records all the Schools in peterborough were closed for the half day for her Funeral also his Father James Willie ( a Railway Goods Guard based in Peterborough ) & Mother Elizabeth Ann and another sister  sister Amy who i believe died in the 1930's.
I do have photoes of Percy on my hard drive also of Percy's brothers but cannot name them i do know my grand father is not amongst them. so transfere is no problem. thank you again
Best Regards

 :-[ Hi again Jan
Thank you again  for your trouble. Yes Percy was on the 1891 & 1901 Census living at home with his parents he was age 12 at 1901 at the time, I also have several letters from Percy to his mother Elizabeth Ann Ashton addressed to her at 206 Cromwell road in Peterborough. where I am sure Percy lived after WW1.  I was beginning to think it was me not driving this site properly when I couldnt find him ( or at least a record of his Death)
I have always believed he died in the 1920's as a result of a possible  injury incured during the 1st world war he definately died in this country. England that is, the strange thing is as you say there doesnt seem to be any record, I will have to invest in some more credits and search the 1930's he would have only been in his 60 in 1938. My Grandfather died when he was 81 in 1966 and Percy was his younger Brother by 2 years but "who knows"
I am fairly certain  Percy was dead before I was born and I think for a long time, any way thank you once again for your trouble and time.
Best Regards
Jim Ashton
