I liked this one. She didn't go in for the over the top theatricals of some, just a calm acceptance and real interest in what she was being told.

She might not know what a charwoman was but she can't be too stupid to be worth what she is.

Also it looks like we aren't related. Wondered about a Tweedy link, but no.

Verra true Skoosh. Of my mother and her 7 siblings, only one didn't have a former family surname as a middle name. Her mother, my gran had two. ;)

Apparently after WWII it became an old people's home and was demolished in 1972

First photo I would guess early 1930's and the uniform in the second seems to be RAF.

My guess would be early 1900's, a few years either side of 1905. Nice photo.

I agree with Gadget, definitely Edwardian I would say. Spectacular hats there.
