I don't know how anyone, even if they had the support of an extended family, could look after 9 babies. Hope they will be ok. Erato, I think your comment was lacking empathy to say the least.

If there are any records of interest, or potential interest, between the cut off points and 1958, you can order research copies from the Irish GRO. Cost 5 per copy. You need to quote the district, year, volume & page no.

Also, names such as Doherty/dougherty can be O'Doherty/O'Dougherty, with the "O" appearing and disappearing even with the same person. Check for other spelling variants too.

He got about 22% Northern Ireland/SW Scotland, which when takes into account how Monaghan is practically in Ulster,

Monaghan is actually in Ulster. There are 9 counties in Ulster, 6 of these make up Northern Ireland and the remaining 3, including Monaghan, are in the Republic of Ireland.

Yes, I also got a page not available when trying to search on Ancestry.  Annoying.

I've had this problem too. The user name is not necessarily the same as the name on the person's profile, but there seems to be no way of finding this apart from asking the person. The link option has never worked for me.  ::)

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: Messages on Ancestry DNA

The last logged in time is definitely no longer accurate - I have many people that say they last logged in 3-11 months ago, who have just replied to me on Ancestry, which you can only do by logging in :-X ::)!!

I agree with you, I've noticed quite a few new DNA matches whose profile says they became Ancestry members in January 2021, yet they too are recorded as having last logged in 3-11months ago!! A bit misleading.

The Common Room / Re: Stolen Images ?

I have found many photos of family members on various Ancestry trees. I always ask permission before using them, and so far permission has not been refused, for which I'm very grateful. I'm also happy to share my photos with others. My ancestors are also part other people ancestors.
