Ireland / Hannah Jackson
« on: Friday 26 November 10 00:05 GMT (UK)  »
I am seeking any information from Ireland on Hannah Jackson.

She was a  Potato Famine Orphan who went to Australia in 1849 on the "New Liverpool" from Plymouth.

Hannah went to Melbourne where she worked before marrying Henry Branston.

On her Australian records her place of birth was put down as Enni, Ireland

Hannah was born about 1835

Hoping that some one can help.

Thanks in advance

Alan

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: McBride/Barfield

Hi  Carol,

I posted it on the Lancashire site, because as he was in the Lancashire Regiment, he may have come from that area.
As I have no idea where to start, I thought that I may try there.

Thanks for asking

Lancashire Lookup Requests / McBride/Barfield
« on: Sunday 21 November 10 00:14 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I am seeking information on a JAMES McBRIDE, MARRIED TO BRIDGET BARFIELD.
James was a soldier of The 47th Lancashire regiment stationed in Malta in 1840 where they gave birth to a daughter.
On my Great Grandmother's marriage certificate ,Name Eliza McBride born Malta 1840.
On checking the Malta website there is a Bridget McBride born that year.
The 47th arrived Malta Feb 1837 with reinforcements coming in march 1840.
The Regiment left Malta in Feb 1841 to go to the West Indies.
Any help in finding anything on either James or his wife Bridget Barfield would be a help.
Thanks
Alan

But anything on them would be wonderful.

Thanks Alan
