I'm astounded given the number of potential locations in the UK!
I have sent scans of three four photos to the museum in Melton to see if they can identify the other locations. The man in the picture is exceptionally well dressed for a boat trip, I wonder if he is from Egerton lodge as this was obviously a grand affair.

Excellent,  thank you. You can see that money has been spent on the construction, there is also an Egerton park, so quite grand people by the sound of it.  Unfortunately my pictures didn't upload very well, one shows a man in a straw boater in a rowing boat, the other shows him and his children on the bank, I think they must have all been taken on this part of the River.
Thanks to all.

There are two more photos, but they dont really help

There is no indication on the photographer, however the photo paper was sourced from  a London dealer. There are other photos see my last reply.

Please can anybody identify this location, I realise its a long shot. It is somewhere in England c1910. The bridge is expensively constructed and may be part of a country estate. The large house at the rear has a carved stone plaque with a crown, but cant see what is below it

Essex / Re: Essex Newsman article, Albert Chilvers and Tilling 1908

It's a shocking story, thank you very much for the transcript. As a result of this Alice was taken into the care of the West Ham guardians. Chilvers actual name is Alfred not Albert. He was born c1880 in Harlestone He does appear on the 1901 census with Alice in Walthamstow. I think he went into the Army, but I know nothing more about him.

Essex / Essex Newsman article, Albert Chilvers and Tilling 1908

I have been handed some papers recently regarding an ancestor I am researching. He was involved in an assault and was tried at the Essex Quarter sessions. I can find the court report with sentence etc, however there is no other information.  The papers state that the event was written up in the Essex Newsman on 1/8/1908. Does anybody know where I can view a copy of the report?
The newspaper sites seem to be subscription only. Are there local archives where I would be able to view a copy. I live in the North West but do travel to the south often.
