John from Auckland here.
I'm on the Vestry of St. Jude's Anglican Church, in Avondale, West Auckland.
Since 2008, I've been transcribing and photographing the 1-acre cemetery
which is run by our church.

We have James OWEN - 1898, aged 69,  also infant daughter Florence, d. 1875.
Have located Richard James OWEN, d. 1898, aged 38 - in Purewa Cemetery, E. Auckland.

James and Florence have turned up in the 'NZ Herald' newspaper this week, due
to the rediscovery of Florence's original headstone from 1875, under a house in
Mt. Albert - some 7Km away.
The headstone has been returned to the Avondale Cemetery in the last week.
This is all free - no strings attached.

Normally, we have some 50Mb of cemetery info on our church website, which is
unfortunately down this month.
The webmaster has just moved house and is dealing with 10 years of stuff from
a previous house . . .    I'm taking this opportunity to update files from 2008-10
and everything should be back in a month or two  (all free as well)

Regards,  John

Hello Leighton.

Thanks for replying.  Appreciated.
Yes, the transcription for the 6ft stone is the
important link for me.
Shall follow up your suggestion on transcripts
for Denny and Dennyloanhead.

The 'memento-mori' site is spot-on too and
contains a photo of the tall stone.

On our 2006 visit, we found on the opposite side
of the yard that James Russell's stone to his little
son William had been incorporated into a fenced-
off back yard and that the covered urn on top has
now gone.

Through this website, I learned that the headstones
were moved to the boundaries some years ago.
Hoping a lair plan might still exist.

In 1994, at Denny Cemetery, we found a Russell/Brock
headstone on the western fenceline, by the exit driveway
and this referred us to Dennyloanhead

Regards,
John.

Saw that Denny Cemetery, near Falkirk, could be in print soon,
Would be most interested to look through this.
I have relatives in Denny and Dennyloanhead
cemeteries. (Russell / Brock)

My father was born in Melville St. Falkirk.
Parents  Russell / Callander
My grandfather was born on Dalderse Farm in NE Falkirk.
( Russell / Henderson / Callander / Bain )

Dennyloanhead cemetery is as far back as I can
currently trace my Russell line  (Russell / Cleland)

Visited from New Zealand in 1994, 2006 and 2009.
Family wedding in the area in July 2011.

Regards,
John Russell
