Hi, Daisyloo,

I recently found out more information regarding the Mulkerrins, I'll have to go through the records again but I think there is another connection O'donnell/Mulkerrin in addition to the one I listed before.  When you get a chance I'd love to hear from you.  I have to change me email so I will keep the name as close to this one as possible.

Hi,

I have Clancy's that were born in Freeport, Barna (I believe the parish was Rahoon) in 1823, Owen Clancy son of Martin Clancy and Mary Curreen.  Martin's Dad was Owen and I believe he was buried in Rahoon.
Martin and Mary moved to South Boston, MA.  We have Curreen, Feeneys, Flaherty and Hurneys.  All from Galway, Spiddal and Barna area.  I'm wondering if John Clancy born in Rahoon in 1840 might be the grandson of a brother to Martin Clancy.  Given the area and the date of the birth I would say that would have to be.  To my knowledge all of the Martin Clancy clan came to MA so it couldn't be one of Owen's siblings.

My ggg grandmother was Catherine Feeney (b 1842) daughter of Edward Feeney and Hannah Flaherty (her parents were Bartholomew Flaherty and Bridget Hurney)  she married Owen Clancy in 1865 in East Boston.  I haven't been able to find definitive confirmation about Ed's parents.  went to see who I thought was a distance cousin in Spiddal who owns a B & B.

I suspect my Owen Clancy family is buried in the cemetery near Donnelly's in Barna Village.

just signed up tonight, my great grandmother was Mary O'Donnell McDonough, sister of Michael O'Donnell who married Catherine Mulkerrin.  Are you related to O'Donnell's too?  I've met Sr. Catherine Mulkerrin, lovely brave woman.  My dad wasn't quite sure how we were related just that we were cousins.  I've been to the house in Carna where my great grandmother grew up, Walsh family lives there now, I suspect an O'donnell married into Walsh family.
Well, thank you for clearing up the mystery on how the McDonoughs were related to Mulkerrins, been trying to figure it out for years, even called Medford city hall to get the parents of Martin Mulkerrin on his death cert but they were listed.  He and his wife (catherine o'connor) are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, I believe that's the name of it.
well, thanks again

First time using this.  looking for daisy loo, can't figure out how to contact you regarding mulkerrin.  my grandmother was Mary O'donnell, sister to Michael O'Donnell.  Mary married Peter McDonough, they lived in south boston.  I currently have a cottage in Barna.  I've  been to my great grandmothers house where she grew up in Carna.  If I figured it out correctly the Walsh's live there now and have for awhile.  Best I can figure walsh must have married into the O'donnell family, course I could be completely wrong.

Sr. Catherine Mulkerrin was my cousin (distant) and could never figure out how, your posts were extremely helpful.  She was a lovely and brave woman, met her a few times.  Dad just said they were cousins and that's all he knew.

Looking for more information on O'Donnells, Kelly (Catherine, Mary's mother), Greene (the maiden name of Catherine Kelly's mother).  Also looking for info on McDonagh, I believe his dad was Thomas and his mother was Bridget Joyce.

thanks for your help.
