Hi

I am researching the SMITH family in Askham in the middle/late 18th century and early 19th century. I have a WADE SMITH who married ELIZABETH DOCKERAY 5th August 1762 in Lowther, St Michael. At present I have found no baptism/birth record for either party. They produced 10 offspring who were all baptised in Askham between 1762 and 1780 - WADE SMITH described as a shopkeeper. I have a poll book/Electoral record of WADE SMITH Askham in 1818. I have checked the Askham registers up to 1812 - no burial record for either WADE or ELIZABETH SMITH. I am seeking the burial record for either both individuals which I believe to be post 1812.
If anyone has any knowledge or research interest in this family I would love to hear from them. Additionally, if anyone has access to the Askham parish records post 1812 or knowledge of their whereabouts please can you advise me further?
Any help/advice - greatly appreciated.
Regards
Jim

Somerset / Brookman Family mid/late 17th century
« on: Thursday 25 June 20 17:42 BST (UK)  »
hi

I am trying to research the above family surname. My interest is in a Hannah Brookman who married Emmanuel Hollyman in 1709 in Bedminster (Bristol), Somerset. The marriage was by licence. I holf a copy of the marriage bond/allegation document. Hannah is decribed as residing in Wraxall (Nr Nailsea) parish and her father, John/Jonathan Brookman is one of the bondsmen. I have been unable to discover anything regarding her baptism etc or her father's marriage. I know she and Emmanual had offspring baptised in Backwell. Her husband is buried in Wraxall. I have been unable to trace any record or her death/burial.
I would be interested to hear from any fellow researcher who has an interest in the Brookman family or has knowledge of the family.

Hi

That's fantastic - thank you so much for your quick response. Would it be cheeky to ask if you have a marriage for Robert & Joan ROWE in the same parish?

Devon / Richard ROWE - Torquay
« on: Saturday 15 February 14 17:29 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I am seeking the baptism of Richard ROWE, who according to consistent census information was born circa 1804/1805 in Torquay. He moved to Bristol in the 1820's when he married Ann Martin POLLARD.

Is there anyone who may have knowledge of a ROWE family from Torquay or have access to transcriptions of Torquay parish records?

Any help - greatly appreciated.

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Maria GREEN - St George in the East
« on: Wednesday 13 November 13 19:18 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I am seeking the baptism of Maria Green, born circa 1817. She married Mark BRAINE in Bristol in 1836. No indication of age in the parish marriage register. Witnesses not connected with either family.
She remained in Bristol for the remainder of her life. She consistently gives the above parish as her place of birth from the 1851 census onwards. Her age is also consistent in all censuses.

Does anyone have any knowledge of the parish as I do not know London that well?
Are there neighbouring parishes where she may have been christened?
I have no knowledge of why she moved to Bristol. She married under 21 years of age, but there is no indication of this fact in the marriage register.

Seeking some guidance of where to look.
Regards
Jim
