Hi Andy
re the Hay family,  I'm trying to learn more about my Edinburgh and Rosyth family who I never knew. About all I know is that my grandfather Peter Hay married Eliza Aitken June 4, 1897 in District of St. Giles, Edinburgh.  They had three children; James, Jessie and my father Peter who was born July 7, 1906 Forrest Hill, Edinburgh.  Eliza died (when/where?) and grandfather Peter married Mary Alexander and lived on Backmarch Rd. Rosyth with their two children Gretta and Stanley.  Grandfather Peter died April 6, 1939.  I have several photos' if these people are of interest to anyone.
                                  Sincerely,    Peter Hay

Hi 'sleepy'
Thanks very much for your help regarding Douglas Bank.
Regarding the Hays,  it would be great if one of your friends recognized any of the names of these people from the past.       My grandfather Peter Hay married Eliza Aitken in Edinburgh 1897.  They had three children; James , Jessie and my father Peter.   Eliza died during childbirth and grandfather Peter married Mary Alexander.  They had two children;  Stanley and Gretta.
Stanley and Gretta were living with their parents on Backmarch Rd. Rosyth during the 1920's and 30's.
That's all I know.     Thanks again for your help.
(I tried to reply yesterday but I don't think it worked)
                                                 regards, Peter Hay

Hello Pam,   I too hope  to learn more concerning Aitken.    I doubt if my small contribution is helpful but "you never know"    My grandmother Eliza Aitken married
my grandfather Peter Hay June 4  1897  in Edinburgh  and died either during or shortly after my father's birth July 1906  Edinburgh.
I know very little about my Edinburgh family but am trying to start a search.
         (just recently discovered RootsChat)

Hi Angela,   I read with interest your headstone readings.
That was a lot of work!  I have a question you might be able to help me with.    My grandfather Peter Hay died April 6, 1939 and was buried,   quote;  "a pretty long walk" from his home at 33 Backmarch Rd.  Rosyth,  Fife.  Can you suggest names of possible cemeteries?
                                         any reply greatly appreciate
                                                      regards,  Peter
