Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Grace Hoyles marriage entry
« on: Sunday 12 March 17 11:38 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I have this entry in the parish records but not sure what it means, could it be that they didn't understand her name and wrote two?

What I can make out is;
and Grace Hoyles (on isles/or isles) of Pilling and of the parifh of Garstang Spinster

Hi

I have Alfred Wells Smith death 28 Oct 1960 Skerton Lancaster (DOB abt 1875) probate to widow Jane Slee Smith. Marriage 1925 (age abt 50) Lancaster Jane Slee Dunstan. The only Alfred Wells Smith that I can find was born abt 1876 in Long Marton Westmoreland and if this is my Alfred then it looks that he was married first in 1908 Lancaster to Elizabeth Longton, both on the 1911 census. I have found a few deaths for an Elizabeth Smith between 1911 and 1925 but these could be anyone. Hope someone can help with this one.

Hi

Just been looking through the prison hulk register. John Bery (actual spelling) convicted 2 Aug at Appleby, says that he has a wife and 2 children. In the 'how disposed of' column it says N S Wales, Parkfield 4 May 1839. Parkfield was a convict ship.

Hi
Raymond Frederick Marshall son of Frederick George Marshall and Laura Jessie Kettle born 17 Oct 1916, birth registered Q4 1916 Southwark, I know he had a sister my maternal grandmother Elsie L L Marshall Q2 1913 Southwark and a brother Robert W Marshall Q3 1924 Camberwell. However I have found a Dorothy W Marshall Q4 1916 Camberwell (mothers name Kettle) could she be Raymond's twin sister and if so why is the registration district different. Also what happens to Dorothy as there is no one left to ask.
