Hi Linda

I was speaking to my Dad over the weekend and he was thrilled that we had made contact. He remembers a childhood sweetheart of his (from when he was 6 or 7) by the name of Rose McLaughlin and he is pretty certain she lived at 9 Rosehall Street. Just wondered if the name means anything to you and if so, is she a relation of yours?

Kind regards

Brian Murphy

Good morning

Thank you for your post.

My Grandparents originally lived at No.5 Rosehall Street but moved to No.10 in the early 1940s. My own father, Daniel Murphy, was born in No.10 in 1944. Were you and/or your family living in No. 9 at that time?

Kind regards

Brian Murphy

Hi Audrey

Nice to hear from you. Your message certainly took me by surprise. Do you by any chance live in Ayr where Daniel was born and raised?

I have been piecing together my family tree for some years now and I have a considerable amount of information regarding Daniel Murphy. Perhaps you might tell me what kind of information you need. I'd be glad to help.

Hi Mick

Thanks for that information. I actually live just outside Cloughjordan and I have recently come across records of Merritts in the village in the early 1900s. But your Merritt connection is new information to me. I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know about this.

Thanks

Brian

Hi

For what it's worth, I have a JOHN SPEIR who has turned up in my research. He owned a Saddlers shop in Burn's Statue Square, Ayr in the late 1800s/early 1900s.

I have more info and dates etc. If you think it might be of any use to you, I'll happily pass them on.

Regards

Brian

Can anyone please guide me as to the availability of any records of employees in the Yorkshire Mills in the mid 1850s - probably around the Bradford area.

Thank you

Does anyone have any pictures of Rosehall Street, Glasgow (just off the New City Road). The whole street and much of the surrounding area was demolished to clear space for the building of the M8 Motorway. My father was born & raised there but we do not have a single image of the street.

Thanks

Thanks bigt, that's great information. From what you said, am I to understand that the cemetery staff have a list of those buried in the unmarked paupers area?
