Hello Lodger,
Is it possible to obtain a photograph of James McKinlay's parents stone.
They are together in a plot in the new cemetery, in an area reserved for short-term leases. They are in plot 135. Margaret was buried there on 13th February 1865 aged 74 years. Her parents were James Stewart & Grace Cunningham.
William was buried on 12th August 1867 aged 83 years, his occupation was given as "hostler".

Further to William's occupation, in his youth his occupation was recorded on Census as Coachman. So I guess he always had something to do with 'horses'.

Thanks to your info re the parents I now have another family line to research!
All the best, Glynnis

Hi Glynnis

First step you'll need his death cert. Do you have that? (DC won't say where buried but important to knoww where he died as will dictate possible places of intermnent).

Hi Glynnis

I had a look at Bent Cemetery Burials 1853-1949 but neither James nor Mary are recorded as having been interred there. Sorry but at least you can eliminate Bent Cemetery, Hamilton.

Cheers,

Rodeo
Thanks for info, one down & more to go!]
