« on: Sunday 27 February 11 13:14 GMT (UK)  »
i hope you dont mind me posting this here

My uncle was a child migrant sent to Australia in 1952, whislt doing some research about him, i came across this book,

http://www.amazon.co.uk/My-Life-Orphan-David-Crisp/dp/1847482147

http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/news/told-parents-died/article-3186643-detail/article.html

it was writtern by  David Crisp, one of  my uncles friends, it makes interesting reading for anyone who has had a family member sent out there,, or for anyone for that matter, to learn more about what actualy happened to these young children

theres a face book discussion group if anyone is interested
http://www.facebook.com/#!/home.php?sk=group_160852127295691&ap=1

The book covers life in Nazareth House Ophanage in Bishopston Swansea, the journey on the SS Ormonde to Australia, and the harsdhips endured at Casteldare and Clontarf boys homes
