Berkshire Lookup Requests / Re: NEALE and GOODCHILD families of White Waltham
« on: Thursday 14 March 24 03:30 GMT (UK)  »
Apologies, I have had to alter this post, as I found an error in my logic.

There is a WILLIAM NEALE b. abt 1801 from Berkshire who ended up in Australia (possibly as a convict) and married an ELIZABETH LAWMAN in 1847 in West Maitland, NSW, Australia.  His death records do not identify his parents' names.  However it is widely thought that this WILLIAM NEALE (b. abt 1801) and LUCY NEALE (daughter of THOMAS and ELIZABETH NEALE) were related as either a brother, cousin or uncle to LUCY.

Can anybody find a WILLIAM NEALE (b. abt 1801) who may have criminal charges that would have resulted being transported to Australia?

Also not forgetting:
Quote
The William Neale mentioned above married Rachel Head - widow 15 February 1829 at White Waltham

1841/1851 census 1861 census his occupation is Sawyer born Shottesbrook, the same occupation as Thomas Neale so I expect he is the son of Thomas and Elizabeth.

They don't appear to have had any children together although Rachel has children from a previous marriage.

Any help is really appreciated.  Thank you.

There is also a possibility that a son of Thomas and Eliza Neale, William, was also in trouble with the law and may have been sent to Australia.  I don’t know if it is correct.

Anther possibility is that William Neale may have been married before being sent to Australia.  I also don’t know if that is correct.

Any assistance is so greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Oh my gosh.

This is amazing.

So much for me to dig into and follow up on.

Thank you so very much for all your assistance.

Has anybody found any details of death or burial records for Thomas Neale and his wife Eliza or who their respective parents were?

Thank you once again for all your help.

Yes I have checked Family Search, and only found the marriage record of Thomas and Eliza.

Nothing else.

Hello,

I am looking for the parents or siblings of Lucy Goodchild.

Does anybody have any information on which Goodchild family she came from?

Thank you for your time.

Berkshire Lookup Requests / NEALE and GOODCHILD families of White Waltham
« on: Tuesday 12 March 24 22:02 GMT (UK)  »
Hello there,

Thomas Neale and Eliza Goodchild were married in 1799 at White Waltham, Berkshire.

I know they had a daughter, Lucy, born in 1818.

Any assistance to find supporting records of:
    -  other children of Thomas and Eliza
    -  death/buriel records of Thomas and Eliza
    -  parent records of Thomas and Eliza.

I contacted the parish at White Waltham and they informed me that all their records were in the Berkshire Records Office.

I am in Australia, so if anyone is going to the office to visit and can spare a little more time to try to find anything on the NEAlE and GOODCHILD family of White Waltham I would be very appreciative.

Thank you for your time.

Thankyou for your replies.

I know about Lucy Blanch (née Neale) who is the daughter of Thomas and Eliza Neale (nee Goodchild).

I am interested in knowing what evidence there is to support if Lucy Blanch had an aunt called Lucy Goodchild (Lucy Blanch’s mother’s sister).

Any assistance would be great.

Hi there,

I know this post is old, but may I ask you:
    - what were your sources that you believe that Elizabeth Goodchild had a sister Lucy?
    - and who were their parents?

Thank you, AB
