I was just wondering about the name because of the name Billy.  My uncle Bill (William) would of just been home from the war at that time in Belfast  as would uncle Ed.

Yes Jena>  The Henry and Mary from Carnan St. were my Grandparents that I never met.  Henry was born in 1878 and his father William died when he was quite young his mother remarried in 1888 to a Samuel Walker.
I would of never even found out this much but I took a chance one day and emailed a fellow that I knew was about to look through the 1901 census for Shankill ward and asked if he might check Carnan st. for me, turned out we shared a common great grandmother and my grandfather was living in the house he was researching for his great grandparents.  What a shock that was but I never would of found him searching for Gibson as he was in the house of Samuel Walker.
Are you sure of the name Richard and who was your friends Grandmother              Muriel

thankyou Jena but unfortunately I do not know of any Richard.  Gibson is a hard name it seems to be quite common.  I have been searching for years to try to find some remnants of my fathers family who he left behind in 1927 and came to Canada.  Last contact was when he passed away in 1953 and that was only through the police finding my grandfather to notify him that my father had passed away.  Well if you don't mind keep my names in mind while ypur searching and I will watch for any Richards.   Thanks again Muriel

Could I bother you Jena for the first name of the Gibson you might be looking for?
I am searching for either William or Edward or their sister Madge all children of Henry and Mary (Minnie) nee Campbell.
   Thanks   Muriel
