Thank you so much for all your information I am overwhelmed with the help received and have followed up all the links. I know I would not have managed to source all these historical memories on my own. On some of our death certificates in Scotland the person present at the death if not residing in the home states where they live. When John Mackie was at the death of his Father in 1916 in Nairn his residence was given as Oxford Street Okleigh Melbourne. Thanks again.

Hi I am looking for any information on a John Mackie born in Nairn Nairn-shire Scotland on 4th October 1886 to John Mackie and Ann Mackie Ms McDonald they married on 29th December 1876 in Nairn. I have looked extensively in Ancestry and have a few possibilities of him on route to Australia. On his fathers death certificate in 1916 John is home and his address on this is Melbourne. When his mother died in 1924 no record to say he was home. Any info would be appreciated.

Hi thank you so much for your help. I followed your advice and saw the record of the India wedding and his WW1 records. I sent an email to the people who hold the records and no children were found belonging to Evan Victor Maclean and Constance.

Nairnshire / John Mackie/Isabella Wilson
« on: Thursday 28 August 14 17:26 BST (UK)  »
Hi
This is a request for info on John Mackie born 1795 and married Isabella Wilson in Nairnshire Scotland.
My names were found on their sons death certificate sourced on Scotland's People Andrew  Mackie died on 20th of March 1864 in Auldearn County of Nairn Scotland.  He was Married to Grace Simpson first on 10/03/1838 Grace died and Andrew went on to marry Catherine Herd in 1845 Andrew was in Ardersier and Catherine was in Auldearn.
There's is a record on Ancestry which links John Mackie to Joseph Mackie who was a baker in Nairn and i have a death of a John Mackie married to an Isabella Fraser on 13/01/1868 in Nairn which is Joseph the bakers son it's confusing anyone who has any help on this family would be appreciated. Ruth
