Hi Annette - Thank you for this info. What a pity :( So I now do not have a birth for Henrietta SUMMONS dau of Margaret RUDLER. I have proof that Margaret RUDLER had a dau Henrietta born circa 1862-3 - this Henrietta did marry William Donald MURRAY in 1891 and appeared on various census records with her mother Margaret who had married a John CHRISTMAS in 1865.
I have looked at Free BDM online and cannot locate the birth of Henrietta SUMMONS.

Can you please advise me where I could find the name LARK in the GROs records - I see a note that says mother's maiden name was added from 1911 - has there been more additions recently?
Are you able to search the GRO records for children born to Margaret RUDLER?

Thanks again for your information most important to get dates right.

One further small piece of information on Edward SUMMONS. See attached.
Anne his wife was Anne McCarthy the lady Edward left Margaret RUDLER for.
Anne remarried after Edward died to a Philip NOLAN.
Anne died in 1919 and is buried in the Brighton General Cemetery, Melbourne, Australia.
Her Will makes interesting reading with bequeaths of cash to people all over the world.
But that is a little to distant from the theme of this chat.

I note that the Ancestry 'Arnold Family File' shown in my previous post appears to have been superseded by 'newham/carroll family file'.

I also note that my trusty dog pictured on my posts for 11 years has said goodbye to us on the 28Jun20. A sad passing. :(

To lavender123 - I see you have a copy of the marriage certificate for Thomas CALLAGHAN and Malvina SUMMONS. May I request a scan/copy if you are able to do that.

To Bird1954 - I am on Ancestry - I have seen Vivian MAGUIRE's public family file and I have also seen the private file of Spetisbury called PAIN family file - both have SUMMONS info. In fact I think that is how I discovered Malvina's marriage to the CALLAGHAN family. Is the Maguire file the cousin you refer to? If there is another I would be pleased if you could pass on details.

Hi Bird1954
lavender123 & treebranches have posts on thread called Margaret Rudler see: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=546033.54
There is some RUDLER info there. I am happy to answer any further RUDLER questions if I can.

My interest is the SUMMONS connection.
Malvina SUMMONS has a great uncle Isaac SUMMONS who is my great great Grandfather.
Thus I am including the CALLAGHAN/SUMMONS relations in my database.

See attached picture of Isaac SUMMONS circa 1886 aged approximately 70

I am following your posts on this and the Margaret Rudler thread. May I request you and the others continue to post updates of anything you find via PMs  :)
I am trying to put CALLAGHANs into my database at present and every little bit helps.
Thank you

I note that the Ancestry 'Arnold family file' has a photo of Thomas CALLAGHAN with what appears to be three workers outside his work office in Dublin and a second photo of Malvina CALLAGHAN nee SUMMONS scrubbing the front path at her home 8 Seaview Avenue, North Dock, Dublin. I checked current google street view and confirmed the front fence shown in Malvina's photo is the same now, down to the missing prong on the fence. See attachments

Thanks for the 1911 Dublin census lead - I have found a scan on the National Archives website - it has same children's names as 1901 UK census so must be them living at 8 Seaview Avenue.
Malvina SUMMONS' mother Margaret nee RUDLER is recorded in the 1841 UK Census as RADLER - aged 5 months with sister Ann 5 years and parents Richard 30 & Elizabeth 30, Richard is a Pastry Cook. They were living in St Anne Limehouse, Middlesex, London.
Margaret RUDLER's parents were married 2 Feb 1835 - vis:
Marriage Register - Richard Rudler & Elizabeth Healey
Author: Parish of St Mary Le Strand, Westminster, London, England
Margaret was christened when she was almost 3 years old on 29th Oct 1843 - her parents were shown as Richard & Elizabeth, he was an Eating House Keeper.
The 1851 UK Census has Richard & Elizabeth RUDLER with chd Ann 15 and Margaret 11 also in St Anne Limehouse - Richard is still a Pastry Cook.
Ancestry has a very comprehensive public family tree called 'Maguire and Jones family tree'. The owner is vjmaguire. This tree shows the CALLAGHAN family moving to Dublin in 1910.
