Hello all:  I wonder if anyone can help me locate my great grandparents resting place.  There is a bit of a complication to their story though.

My g-grandmother Christina Thomson Young Flucker (Flockhart) died June 1st 1918 in Methil.  My g-grandfather John Flucker married again to a widow Christina Wyles in 1920.  He then died in 1939.  Neither of them are buried in Methil.  It has been suggested that they may be buried in East Weymss.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello: I wanted to ask if you have ever come across a Schiffl in yours search for the Schiff family.  We have this family name in our tree but cannot find anything on them anywhere.

Thanks for any info.

Thanks so much for this, avidgenie!  This will help a lot.  Sorry my reply has been so long.  I have been away from the family tree project for a bit.

Thanks again

Hi again rookie;  The Josef you mentioned was my husband's grandfather, but his birthdate was 1907.   He was the son of Ignaz and his first wife - unfortunately I don't have her name.

We are trying to find family beyond Ignaz's generation - my father in law does not remember any of the names, so we do not have many leads.

My husband knew Grete and Marie, his great aunts.  They lived in Pittsburg, Ohio.

How are you related to the family??

Hello rookie:  Ignaz is my husband's great grandfather.  I have been researching the family for quite a while and have not found much.  I do  know that they were workers in the glass factories and one of the last towns where the family lived was Frankereuth.

What is your relationship to Ignaz?

Looking forward to talking more with you.

Thanks so much Phil!!  This is going to be a real help.  I just got the file yesterday and I am trying to make my way through the doctor's notes and the handwriting is not the best.

My grandfather was seriously wounded and had sepsis.  It is amazing that he made it through.  My Mom has the telegram telling the family that he was gravely and the prognosis wasn't good.  Her great-great nephew is very interested in the military so she is putting together a book on my grandfather for him.  We wanted the medical files to tell him a bit about what his g-greatgrandfather went through.

I may have other questions.  I'll post if I do.

Thanks again

World War One / Canadian Expeditionary Force medical records
« on: Thursday 14 July 11 19:34 BST (UK)  »
Hello all:  I have just rec'd my grandfather's WW1 file from the Library and Archives here in Canada.  He fought with the Canadian Expeditionary Force and was seriously wounded.

What I am trying to figure out are some of the terms used on his Casualty form and medical case sheet.

Is there anyone who has any experience with these documents?  One term that keeps appearing is T.O.S in reference to the various hospitals he was transferred to.  There is also a term I CORD in reference to the same thing.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

I would like to say thanks so much to everyone for the links to the cef research site.  I may finally be able to get the information that I have been looking for on my grandfather.

Thanks again

My grandfather was in the Expeditionary Force as well.  I have just applied for access to his file.  The LAC will copy it for you and send you the documents at a cost.

Here is the e-mail to ask them how to go about it.  You have to apply for a user card but there is no cost for that.
