Hi!

Yes -- it sounds like we have a match! :)

My 3 x gt grandmother is Elizabeth's sister, Mary Ann Ramshire (1825 - 1876).  Mary Ann married Robert Robertson 27 May 1846 in Shoreditch, MDX.

I believe Elizabeth and Mary Ann also had a brother James (1830 - 1889).  I am not aware of any other siblings.

I am stuck at that point too, although I have death certificates for both:

Robert   10 Nov 1841, Watford,  age: 73, cause: rupture, occupation: tailor

Martha   16 Nov 1844, Watford,  age: 77, cause: natural decay

I can email you copies, if you like.   :)

 :) Hi Cousin Karen!

Thanks for the info...you are a super sleuth 8)!  I love being able to fill in those nasty blank spaces on my family file.

Any more luck with the Robertsons of Herts.?  I have back to Robert and Martha (maiden name unknown).  I am still at the same email address.

Thanks again!

Pauline,

Thank you so much for your reply :)

I had pretty much given up on this one!  RAMSHIRE seems to be a rather uncommon surname, so this sounds quite promising!

Thank you again....your time is very much appreciated!

Hello Maddie,

I really think you are on to something!  I checked the 1841 census at findmypast.com and found Robert and Martha Robertson in Watford.  It's quite possible these are Richard's parents.  Richard's son was named Robert, so as is often the case it would be no surprise if his father's name was also Robert.

This gives me something to work with...thank you so much! :)

Hello

I am looking for birth/baptism and marriage information on Richard ROBERTSON born 1800 - 1802 in Watford

What I know:

1. He appears on the 1861 census in Hackney, MDX:

Richard Robertson age 59, occupation Warehouseman b. Watford
Frances Robertson age 67, wife  b. Watford
H. M. Clark age 26,  married, daughter b. Bethnal Green, MDX

2. He had a son named Robert born about 1822 in Hertfordshire (1871 census: age 49; living in Greenwich)

3. There is a marriage entry for the third quarter of 1847:
Richard ROBERTSON and Frances ROGERS St. Pancras, MDX
Given the place and year of this marriage, I believe Frances was not his first wife, and not the mother of his son Robert.

I am hoping there is baptism info for both Richard ROBERTSON and his son Robert ROBERTSON, and marriage info (possibly around 1820?) for Richard and the unknown mother of Robert.

Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thank you!

Hello

I'm looking for marriage information for James Fullbrook RAMSHIRE (b. abt 1795).

He married Ann (UNKNOWN).

The groom was from Hackney; the bride from Stoke Newington.

They resided in Hackney and their children were born there, so it's probable the marriage took place there.

I estimate the the marriage took place 1820 +/- 5 years or so.

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you. :)
