In reference to John Dingley b:1803 d:1880 in Bridgwater:

Trish,

His second marriage was to Mary Hucker nee Benington, 1856, Bristol and his father's name is Edward, right?

Is there any information on Edward available? Was he married to Mary Cock (b:1777 Bridgwater d: 1861). I suppose Edward's birthdate would be around 1777 as well but have no information on him.

I would be so grateful for any information on Edward Dingley, the father of John b:1803 and Edward b:1816.

I am not sure how to navigate back to a thread I already started about the Dingleys in Bridgwater, Somerset, England - Sorry, I have to post here and this may not be the right place!

I am looking for information on a marraige of Mary Cock to John Dingley in Bridgwater, Somerset, England in 1873. This wasn't either of their first marraiges. What I am looking for is any document that would have John Dingley's (b:1803 d: 1880 Bridgwater)parents and siblings - most important to my tree is the parents names and dates of birth/death. There is a gap in my tree from the generation before John to the mid 1700's. I can't connect the Dingleys.

Any help, please!

My ancestor, John Dingley, listed his occupation as "Rope Maker, Seaman" in the 1851 Bridgwater Parish census. Any ideas what his jobs may have been? Did he sail? Is there any way to find out if he sailed on ships or served in a Navy of any kind?

Alrighty, now I've got to make the connection between the Dingleys of Birmingham and the Dingleys of Somerset. It would be reasonable, at the time of the mid 1800's to assume work was vastly available in Birmingham compared to Bridgwater and Birstol - am I right?
It seems that at some point one of the Dingleys of Somerset moved to Birmingham...I'm thinking Edward (he was 24 in 1841) and sort of a straggler with the John and Eliza Dingley of the 1841 census. Or - were there other Dingleys in Edgwater, Somerset?
How would I find out how many Dingleys (or Dingley families) were living in Somerset, Birmingham, etc. Are there old directories or other records that would show those numbers?
Perhaps the Bridgwater DIngley and Birmingham Dingleys are related earlier in the ancestry line (ex: 1800 Dingleys flew the coup and moved to Bridgwater and others to Birmingham?
It could be they are not related at all but, the names of the kids are either a coicindence or in honor of relatives.

Stop me if I'm aggravating!
