Family History Beginners Board / Clark Family

Hi there,
I am new to this. I am researching the Clark Family who supposedly came over from England, went to Virginia, then to Kentucky, (supposedly Clay County, Kentucky, and Jackson County, Kentucky), then to Redding Township in Jackson County, Indiana. I have a feeling that some of the Clark's probably stayed in Virginia, before going on to Kentucky, and some of them probably stayed in Kentucky, before going on to Redding Township in Jackson County, Indiana.
