Thank you for all of this information and sorry for not coming back sooner to say it.  I sadly do not get much time with working fulltime :(

Thank you I am sure he was buried by his daughter under the name of O'Farrell for some reason - we could never work out why - I will take a look :)

This is my great-grandfather:

James FARRELL
- Wife - Margaret O'Brien - Son of Mary and James Farrell, Ireland.

Born - 1857 - Coldraghmore, Longford, Ireland

1901 census – living at Tatlock Street. St Martin In The Field, St Martin, Liverpool.

St Martin in the Fields,
Silvester Street,
Liverpool
Lancashire

United Kingdom, Chelsea Pensioners' Service Records

Death 16 February 1930 West Derby - was knocked down by a Liverpool Corporation motor bus in Lincacre Lane, Bootle - fracture of skull. Death by misadventure - No PM.

I believe he was buried with a headstone indicating James O'Farrell - erected by his daughter Minnie - in Liverpool but I cannot trace the cemetery - I visited his grave as a small child can can still see it - to the best of my memory, there was a tree behind it and it was on a slope...... I could be very wrong.  I believe he was Catholic and therefore possibly buried in Ford Cemetery in Liverpool?  Does anybody have access to Ford Cemetery records?  I know they are held in the RO but as I am outside of the UK would be grateful for any assistance.

Sincere thanks, Lis.

The Common Room / Cemeteries Liverpool - Lancashire, UK.

Good morning :)

I am embarrassed to say that I cannot remember where my maternal and paternal grandparents are buried in Liverpool - great-grand parents/great aunt/uncles, not a problem.
Paternal grandparents - Thomas Grisenthwaite and Josephine Grisenthwaite (nee Farrell)
Thomas died 10/8/1957 and Josephine died 5/2/1952.
and my Maternal grandparents - Charles James GOLDRING and Mary GOLDRING (nee Ballard).
Charles James died in September 1957 - Mary died 13/1/1962 - sadly her daughter/my mothers birthday :(

To the best of my knowledge, and having searched, it is not any of the following cemeteries:
Toxteth/Walton Park/Bootle/Kirkdale.

So has to be 2 of the following and something in my head says Everton and Anfield (could be wrong):

Everton/Anfield/Ford/West Derby

Is there a simple way to find which cemetery and where the graves are (other than physically walk around each - impossible as I am NOT in the UK).

My mum and dad used to take care of their graves but since they recently passed I would like to find them to ensure they are properly maintained.  It's very sady as I can picture the headstones of both.
My sincere thanks for any guidance or help that can be given :)
Lisbeth

Researching - Grisenthwaite, Goldring, Farrell, Ballard.

:) :) Thank you all so much - the Charles ties in as the son of Theophilus is Charles and my grandfather ( son of Charles) is also a Charles - this does really help - will now have to get a copy of the certificates............................

Thank you all  :)
