Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Gravestone Name puzzle
« on: Sunday 03 March 24 04:27 GMT (UK)  »
The surname on this Gravestone for Helen Baxter ? died 1936 is difficult to read.
The Grave in Perthshire, Scotland first used in 1890 had various family members interred in later years, many with the second given name of Baxter.

As well as the surname is it possible to read the age at Death?
Kind regards

Think you are right. many thanks.

I can see the book on Ancestry - but I can't get the details you give to come up in a search.

What are you entering to get the result?

OK, the result Ancestry is giving for that search in that book is of a George Campbell with no date of birth given. his father is John of Kinochtree and Otter and his mother Margaret Campbell daughter of sir John Campbell of Ardkinglass

So I do not think it is who you want.

The above named Volume has  information of George Campbell born June 18th 1732 Markinch, Fife Scotland a Son of John Campbell and Margaret Forbes.   Is it possible someone can send me a copy of this section?

Also, the Geneanet Index has a Jackie Simpson Family Tree featuring this family.  As I am not a Geneanet Member could someone send me this data?

A big ask I know.
Kind regards

Fife / Re: CRICHTON family from Markinch, Fife, Scotland
« on: Sunday 28 January 24 04:54 GMT (UK)  »
My Ancestor, John Campbell born Markinch 21 Aug 1752, baptised 23 Aug 1752, Son of James Campbell & Isobel Lethem.  Witnesses George and James Crichton. Ref: Scotlands Peoples.
The Janet Campbell who married a Crichton was probably a relation of John's.
Would the Crichton's of Markinch have any information relative to the Parents of James Campbell & Isobel Lethem?
