I am thinking that Margaret Whiteside's mother's maiden name was Pedden because two of her children's middle names were the surnames of a grandparent. I see that the middle name of the youngest child was Pedden. This is something I have tried to find on familysearch.

Margaret Stewart (Cochrane) did return to Scotland around 1900 without her husband's consent. Robert Stewart also returned to Scotland about the same time but travelled separately as far as I am aware. They both returned to NZ. Where did you find the 1901 entry Monica?

I am searching for the ancestry of Margaret Whiteside who was born about 1812. She married JOhn Cochrane in 1831 and they settled in Helensburgh in Dunbartonshire. Their daughter Margaret, born in 1834 is my great grandmother. Margaret Cochrane married Robert Stewart and they eventually settled near Greymouth in NZ.

I am trying to find a Livingstone ancestor who died in the battle of Waterloo around 1815. I believe his name could have been Robert, William, or John. He left a daughter named Ann who was born just prior to his death or after he died. Ann married a William Stewart at Old Kilkpatrick in 1834. Their son Robert is my great grand father.

No, I don't think we have a Margaret Stewart born 1818 in the family tree but you can check one of my sites www.livingstoneresearch.wordpress.com where it has a lot of info about the Stewarts around that time.

I too am searching for my Cox ancestors. William Cox & Charlotte Cox (LANE) lived at Ealing in Middlesex. I am Mabel Getrude's Cox's grand son. She was born in 1880 and married my grandfather Archibald Arrol Stewart

I am also researching my Livingstone ancestor. My great great grandmother Ann Livingston (e) married William Stewart at Old Kilpatrick in 1834 and their children's names were Robert, Janet, Margaret, and John
