Thanks for your reply. I had found those websites but only one of the deaths occurred on 17th November. That one was in Wakefield. My people lived between Carbrook and Attercliffe Road in Sheffield. I can only assume they were the victims of an early raid on Sheffield

Does anyone know if something significant happened on the above date. I have recently found details of a grave in Ecclesfield cemetery contained the bodies of 3 people Sidney Wigley Agnes his wift (nee Burtoft) and their 11month old daughter Ann. all died on the same date above. Sidney was a soldier at this point and the grave photo is on the war graves photographic project site. I have established a blitz event occurred on 12 Dec that year but nothing else

« on: Saturday 19 May 12 19:29 BST (UK)  »
trying to find out who Thomas Gater's parents were. He married Hannah Baker in 1821 and they had 10 children together. The family settled in Goldenhill and Thomas was a miner as were all his male children. anything on hannah would also be useful she was born in Goldenhill around 1803. I have photos of their gravestone and extensive research on their children but cannot locate the next generation back. Thanks for any help

thanks to all who have assisted.

Merlin. I have looked at the National archive record but unfortunately John Noden's age is not on there. Please may I enquire how you have learned that he returned to Shropshire within 20 years and married? I can see a record in the 1851 census where a John & Sarah Noden are living in the area. John's dob would be around 1809 if this is the one you have identified?

Australia Lookups completed / John NODEN Transported for Life in 1829

COMPLETED

I have recently found the above record showing that John Noden was sentenced to Death in the summer of 1829 and this was commuted to Transportation for life. I was wondering if anyone has access to any further info on this person. His age in 1829 would be a big help. Thanks
