Hi Prelli I am usually rubbish at these but I will give it a go, I found a Micklewood Stafford but the long stroke dosent match the word. Could it have an F where the long stroke is like the double f in Stafford? Other than that my first thought was Marple or Maplewood. In other words nope don't have a clue. ???  :)

Hello everyone, it's been ages since i posted here but i was thinking i have seen many images of the Old Dee Bridge Chester on my hunts around the internet and this looks very similar in a lot of ways right down to the spire church on the left. And the box like brick work along the top, there is an photo taken in 2014 that gives a nice comparison. Also some painting by various artists that maybe useful.
Of course i am most likely barking up the wrong tree but you never know. Regards to everyone.

Hello everyone.
My dad was in the Black Watch and he has a bonnet like the one in the picture and it has a red hackle on it to.
He was in Palestine so wore the khaki shirt. So may be something to think about.

My dads older brother George Arthur was killed in Belgium a couple of days before his 19 birthday or so i was told. The second eldest son of Thomas Arthur Brown and Agnes May Brown of Cheadle Cheshire.
He had an older brother Ronnie who survived the war and 3 younger siblings my dad being the next eldest after him, a sister and younger brother which he never knew. Only my dad is living.
I was told he was blown up after the man in front of him stepped on a land mine.
He has a grave marker at Jonkerbos Cemetery.
He is named on the Cenataph at Cheadle Green and in St Mary's Church Cheadle. A strange thing to say although i never knew him dad and I miss him terribly.
Forgot to say the photo is of his older brother Ronnie sadly we have no photos of Uncle Arthur.

Hello everyone. :D
Not sure what the name says yet but i think the article on her lap is a book maybe a hymn book or similar, it seems to have a white cover on it.
She does seem dressed for hot weather in her summer dress and looks very pretty.
There seems to be a tartan or plaid covering behind and under the chair which to me seems rather cut down or its my eyes. And ornate walls behind her or screens? ???
