Roscommon / Re: Malachy Fallon (1819 ?-1884) and Bridget Mulligan (1816?-1896)

This may be irrelevant and just confuse the issue but on Feb 17 1881 a Malachy Fallon married Elizabeth Campbell in Strokestown. Elizabeth was my grandfather's sister. I have transcripts of the civil and church records. On the civil record Malachy is shown as aged 30 from Culleen and his father as Thomas, a butcher. The church record shows he is from Killinvoy, his father is Thomas and his mother is Catherine Nally. Elizabeth's father was Edward as shown on the civil record but the church record says Michael which is incorrect. They had one son Joseph born in 1884 who I believe died with no issue -see topic rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=765907.9

Thank you minniehaha, particularly for confirming no deaths on the voyage confirming that Amelia made it to NZ. I have recently found out that Amelia's grand daughter had 2 other sons as well as Sedman Arthur, both born in NZ in the 1920's and as possibly still living I give no details.
Regards

To correct an earlier mistake, I now know that all Thomas Milton Frampton's children had died when he made his will in 1905, Eliza Marion having died in 1902 not 1912 as I originally believed. I do find it odd that he ignored his 2 grand children by Eliza who were 5 and 7 when he made the will.

Found this on line  at https://www.familytreecircles.com/grooms-49251.html which I think rules her out
William Frederick Frampton (1864-1932)
son of Thomas Frampton & Eliza Sophia PARSONS
- married Eliza Emily FLOYD (1875-1895) in 1892
born in Wellington to James FLOYD & Eliza Ann LAURENCE
- they had 2 known sons:
* 1893 - 1981 William Alfred Frampton
* 1895 - 1895 Thomas Edward Frampton (11 months)
* ELIZA died 13 Oct 1895 aged 21

mckha489, New link for Erle's will works fine. It makes for sad reading. I have now identified the marriage of Geoffrey Duncan Chisholm and further identified 2 sons. As all are potentially still living I give no details. Considering looking into getting Geoffrey's will but as far as I am aware 1994 Scottish wills are not available on line.

Thank you all for your replies. I have looked at all the links and there are some interesting items there. Shanereagh you refer to an Ann Frampton with some reference numbers I have no idea what this is about.mckha489 thank you for confirming Marion Friston's death. You provide a link to Erle Frampton's will. I had to register to access it and after a convoluted registering process successfully registered -or so I thought  then up came login failed! To avoid confusion here is what I know about the children:
Eliza Marion  b 1866 Bermondsey. 1893 m Frederick Onesimus Friston They had 2 children Erle Frederick (1898) and Ellen Marian (c1900). Erledied on 29 Nov 1920 in Townsville, Queensland. He is commemorated on the Townsville memorial but on line at least is recorded as Eric. I have advised the Australian War Memorial Research centre of this. I know nothing for certain about Ellen other than her birth. However at the link belowthere is an item that refers to Ellen Marion Friston and there is an appropriate marriage in 1921. Many trees give a death in 1989 with no evidence and I have not found one,
https://alchetron.com/Geoffrey-Duncan-Chisholm
Charles Edwin b1870 Lewisham London. Died 25/Oct 1899. Buried  Waikumete cemetery
Thomas Milton b  1872 Greenwich. Died  16  Aug 1903 @ Tokomaru Bay, buried Makaraka cemetery Gisbourne. On 23 May 1900 m Margaret Elizabeth  “Pets” Warren. 14 Oct 1900 Charles Edwin born. In 1925 he (Charles) m Edith Ada Lister. It is possible they had at least one child. Charles d 1983 in Auckland.
Ada Elizabeth b 6 May 1876 West Ham.d 1895. Buried @ Halcombe cemetery.

Thank you for all the replies. I am trying to clarify and confirm the children's details and in the course of doing that looked at other trees. As might be expected many irregularities but several trees referred to Eliza Marion as Marion. This led to find (via Find a Grave) the death of a Marion Friston b 1866 d 19 Dec 1902. She is buried in the Archer St Cemetery Masterton Wellington. I am cautiously optimistic that this is Eliza Marion. I will provide more info when I have properly verified it.

Thank you for the replies. I had seen a passenger list but not the newspaper report. It incorrectly states the family were from Dorset. Only Thomas (sen) was from Dorset. Amelia was from Bristol and the children were all born in and around London. As a family there is no evidence that they ever lived in Dorset.  Re the will, 3 of his 4 children were deceased only Eliza was still alive. She was married with 2 young children at the time of Thomas's death and it might have been expected that they would have had a mention. The search for Amelia goes on/
