I have about 3200 names and up to 9 generations. Presumably if you stop paying (dead) they delete the tree.

Family History Beginners Board / Making Family Tree available online..
« on: Wednesday 10 January 18 21:39 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for advice on making my family tree available one line. We created it on ancestry and legacy, but, now find the cost of maintaining an ancestry subscription prohibitive.  We would like to make it freely available and at little or no cost to us (this does seem to be the sticking point) and presumably once we die , the tree will fall by the wayside as there will be no one to maintain the cost. So I would really appreciate some ideas and advice.

Many thanks

Robin

Hi Rosie
Thank you for that information.
Unfortunately, findmypast will only reveal the 1891, 1901 census and bmd. I searched the Maindee, St John the Evangelist record, but they maintain zero results. Ho Hum .

Thank you

born Jun qtr 1890 Newport Monmouthshire. The family were living at Jones Street in 1891 the parents are George and  Hester. They were Methodist I believe.

Thank You.

BMD Jun Q 1838 marriage Abraham Cocksedge , Maria Lock

1841 Census
 Sub-registration district: Rougham
 Household Members: Name Age
Abraham Cocksedge 25  1816 Brickman Suffolk
 Maria Cocksedge 25
 Harriet Cocksedge 2
 Emma Cocksedge 6 Mo

same family follows through later census.

Guess it just takes them out of the equation.

Hi,
Heard back from the library, as you say they are undergoing refurbishment and the electoral registers will not be available until December. I think the research librarian is going to have a considerable backlog.

Thank you all for your advice.
