I don't have more information about her birth, but am finding this discussion interesting, since I'm also a direct descendant of Henry Hynd and Helen Penman, through their son, Alexander, and his son Henry (who married Helen Adam).  Their son David was my great grandfather, so I know more about that line.

The Hynd people I know of in my tree are:

David Hynd and Margaret Bett
Henry Hynd and Helen Adam
Alexander Hynd and Amelia Geddes

but I think they were from Dunfermline.

I'm interested in seeing the headstone for this ancestor of mine if you have it:
Euphemia Swinley (born Cairns), born 10th May, 1811, died in Lochgelly 3rd Feb, 1865
And also anyone who is clearly related to her.

I'm also interested in any Hynd family inscriptions you have.
