Hi Goughy,

I have a Beadle family from nearby and contemporary.

John Beadle m. Elizabeth Webb 12 May 1768, Milton by Gravesend, Kent
Children all born Milton by Gravesend
John b1766
Elizabeth b1771
Thomas b1774
Sarah b1777
Mary Ann b1781 d1851
Sophia b1784
Henry b1786

There are some MIs at http://www.kentarchaeology.org.uk which suggest that the family may have ended up in Erith but nothing definite. John Sr. is my 4th gt grandfather.

Sadly I don't have access to Erith records either.

Paul

Have the above living in the Tonbridge area of Kent with Philadelphia Stevens (Phyllis) in 1881. She is listed as a housekeeper and was born 1862. The census suggests he had been married before and she had an illegitimate child, maybe his. Can anybody help with previous marriage please.

Morning Ellen, have looked at Arthur Wilfred Ashley, the A W Ashley born 1901 Whitchurch S Registration District seems to have Married Beatrice Hewitt in Dec 1925 same district. Could you have another look to see if the Marriage shows any more detail on the tree please. I have followed this individual through and found a Son and two possible Daughters/Siblings still living, still not convinced it is correct though.
Thanks
Mike

Hi Roger , parents definaltey match but then again William Williams and Anne Thomas are not unusual names in Wales.
I tend to try to prove a lineage before I accept it I have seen so many wrong trees on the internet.
I did look at the Ashleys and if you follow it through there would appear to be two Daughter/siblings who were living with Nellies Son,if it was her Son, and are still living at the address now. The marriage to the Ashleys does have the wrong christian name though.

Hi Roger, that Marriage shows the Bride as Helen Williams on IGI and on freebmd, however her proper name was Ellen so it may have been an entry mistake. May be worth getting the certificate.
