If you pm me your email address I will send you an invite.

Pocklingtons the bakers have their full tree on the web. I was also given a copy at a family history fair.

The Bakers, car dealers, millers are all related. Sadly not all Pocklingtons were rich. Some died in the workhouse too!

There's quite a few common names do you have to be careful.

I have another Pocklington family on my tree who are unconnected. Their roots appear to be in Yorkshire.

Hi Paul,

Have you got the names of their spouses?

It's a fair bet that they fit in somewhere.

Does anyone know of a photograph of this property and whether it still exists

Regards

Jacky

Hi Jacky,

My Grandparents Fred Chantry and Winnifred Willoughby lived at Risby for many years.

There is a manor and also another house known as Risby House in addition to a couple of others.

My Grandad was the farm foreman. It was then farmed by Roger Gillett. I believe that Christs College may own the land now.

At the time a lady called Mrs Fenwick lived in the manor.

Married Anne Rockliffe 1813-1890

From West Ashby, trying to find the parents of Michael.

My grandmother was a Boulton and my great grandmother Boulton, nee Pocklington is buried in Great Carlton.

I noticed a Robert E Boulton also buried there. His parents are Henry Boulton and Lucy Rands and grandparents Michael and Anne.

Investigating as to whether there is a definite link between Robert and my family.

Bit off topic I know but the Pocklingtons took over the mill from my Nash Ancestors ( Sleightholme Nash was my 4XGreatgrandfather who did the mill no good I fear )

I used to work with a Derek Nash from Heckington.

I'm a bit late on this one but I wonder if  a branch of your Pocklington family were  involved with Heckington mill? http://www.heckingtonwindmill.org.uk/the-mills-history.html

We are related to John Pocklington who is of Heckington Windmill. John is my 5th cousin 5 times remoned.

Incidentally, the mill didnt have eight sails until he took some of Skirbeck mill.
