Norfolk Lookup Requests / Re: Joseph Green of Martham?

Hi,
I came across your post here when I 'googled' Joseph Green born 1821 Martham'.
I have a copy of Joseph's marriage certificate that states he was resident in West Somerton and gives his father as Thomas BROWN!! This is why I was looking for him - I hoped somebody may have had the answer to why he and his father have different surnames, or is this just an error?
I have a feeling that the grandson Charles that grew up with them may have been Jane's son as Jane's brothers and sisters were all married by the time Charles was born and why would any of their children be brought up by their grandparents?
I know that Jane remained single and went on to be a stewardess on cruise ships. My mother can remember her coming home for visits!!
