I agree. Margaret may have deliberately used Ritchie to register her son with his father's name.

I would agree with Forfarian - Frederick MCLennan McAndrew is probably fictitious- made up for the marriage certificate ( then repeated on the death cert by the informant) .
George has given blacksmith as his late father's occupation - and of course that could be true. But his bride's father was also a blacksmith - George may just have invented the same occupation for his father.

It is interesting that the names provided by George for his parents on his marriage certificate both have the name McLennan - Frederick as his middle name and his mother Mary's surname.
Does the marriage certificate say Mary McAndrew ms McLennan or just Mary McLennan?

Hi,

Scotland's People has the birth of  an Elizabeth Robertson at West Calder In 1877.
It's a common name, I know, but, considering the possibility that Lizzie could've been born illegitimate, maybe worth ruling in or out.

Hi.
If the death was in 1859 there should be a statutory death registration made and a death certificate would have been issued.
Have you checked for McKirdy deaths on Scotlands People for that year?

Hi,

Bearing in mind that Catherine Park was found in Paisley 1891 - there is a Lizzie Park age 23 on that Census in Paisley.
Unfortunately, I have no credits on SP to look at this entry for Maria.
