Lanarkshire / Re: Percy Randle 1918 Cemetery??
« on: Friday 24 April 20 10:05 BST (UK)  »
Thank you all very much for your help and guidance, it is appreciated. I'm being a big thick thinking that just because he died in Glasgow he was buried there and that he would be buried not cremated. I was aware that he was employed as a music hall agent that's how i knew he was in Glasgow and wrongly thought he might be buried there.
Now knowing his wife was living in Sunderland I will try there.

Regards Doug

Lanarkshire / Percy Randle 1918 Cemetery??
« on: Saturday 18 April 20 12:27 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I’m looking for help finding the cemetery where Percy Enos Randle who died 19th June 1918 in the District of Milton Borough of Glasgow is buried. I am trying to get him recognised by the CWGC and have submitted his death certificate that records him dying of TB caused by his service during the First World War. To aid my cause I need to identify where he is buried, I have tried different 'find a grave/monuments' sites without any luck. Any help would be gratefully received.

Regards Doug.

Hi Polly

John is recorded as being killed in action, he enlisted at Burslem Staffs, and at the time of his enlistment he was resident at "Brown Edge" Staffs.

Hi Vic
Thanks very much, Peterchurch township would definitely confirm the place I'm looking for. The Settlement Examination refers to "P Township"

Thanks all for your help, I can do lateral thinking but I have two different pieces of evidence both saying Bow Church granted given by my ancestor.
The first is a Settlement Examination for Cannock St Luke 21 June 1828 which reads " John Lewis who saith he is upwards of 26 years and he was born at Bow Church in P Township or place of Bow Church in the county of Hereford which he believes was his fathers's place of settlement..." and the second his entry in the 1851 census that records place born as Bow Church Herefordshire.

Any more ideas please ?

Regards Doug.
