Technical Help / Windows 11
« on: Sunday 30 July 23 12:36 BST (UK)  »
Hi. Have just bought an ASUS Vivobook laptop Windows11, as my old ASUS Windows10 was getting slower and slower. First thing download Windows7 games from Winaero (now 7,8 10 and 11 compat). Problem where are they. Start shows Winaero ready to install, which I have installed numerous times but no appearance of an icon to play. On the old ASUS I had a King icon on my tray and one click I was away. Any ideas from all you card players. Many thanks.

Technical Help / Hypothetical Windows 10 for Window 7 users
« on: Wednesday 20 July 22 12:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi. Wouldn't it be great if Windows 10 (ohmegod 11), could give us the latest protection, but keep the new things we do not need away. I do not need 3D emojis. More and more bloated software that needs scanned with your anti-virus or cleaning tools. Don't need. Simple email and Internet and obviously another few thing to suit your needs.
Thoughts/opinions. Cheers.

Hi Rena. Sorry,  answer was a bit vague. As I sit down, I press the 'enter key'12 times and end up at Log-in. Only have to press 'enter once more. You could be on to something with Function key 9/10. Couldn't check on my laptop as that doesn't happen (even though it says I have the latest version). Only happens on my desktop.  Can never remember which key I pressed first F10 or F9 but pressing F9 again most certainly takes me to Log in.

hI Rena. Sit down first. Pressing the Enter key shows nothing on the screen but usually shows - press enter to Logon. Have not tried thirteen. Maybe 6 or 7 would do?? Cheers.

Hi Girl Guide. Know exactly what you mean. Annoys the Hell out of me. Is it Microsoft's computer or is it mine. Couldn't find a solution, so as I ease myself down in my seat, I press the ;Enter; key 12 times and I usually end up on Log in screen.

Hi. Unfortunately can not visit Kew or access NA as we live in Tasmania, Australia. During these traumatic times, I do not want to impinge on his sons arranging the funeral to find out his serial number, though that is the obvious first step. Like my father's army experiences, Joe never talked about the war, only that he had provided photos for the book. Maybe later we can find something of his war experience to pass on to his grandkids. If Joe signed up aged 16 say, then that makes it 1942, so still three more years of war. Many thanks for your help.
