Hi, I've hit a Brick wall on Joseph John Manners born 23 Nov 1840 in Chatham in Kent.  His father David was a soldier.  There are no records(that I can find) preseeding his marriage so I thought I could try and find Dad.  I need soldiers records for Chatham Kent for the beginning of 1840 do you know where these might be.  Secondly, there is no record of his birth in BMD indexes how usual is this for a birth not to be registered?

It says 'Administration (limited) William Henry Williams borough treasurer.'
and it's taken from wills and administration records

Hi Alice Thompson was born 30 may 1876 (information from her grand daughter) She married Edwin Jones in 1905 in whitchurch, shropshire.  on the marriage certificate it says her dads name was thomas thompson deceaced gardener. She was a servant at wirswall hall, whitchurch.  In the 1911 census it's stated that she was born in regent's park, london and living in whitchurch, shropshire. In the 1901 census she is not working in Wirswall hall. I can't find her anywhere else, Please take a look thank you
