Thanks I’ve got your invite! Will try and have a look at it soon. How confident are you with your findings?

Hi Steve!

Have you made quite a comprehensive tree with them in. Perhaps we could trace our connection? Are you on ancestry? Done dna? I haven’t looked at the Sentences in quite a while!

Thanks so much for these! I had a couple but not all of them. I wonder how many wives Broughton had! Possibly three by the looks of it! I know Broughton’s parents were Valentine and Mary but can’t seem to get any info about those two.

Hi Laura
Valentine and Mary are my 6 x great grandparents too! If you want to swop progress let me know! I’ve got a bit stuck with Valentine’s grandfather! There are records online in people’s trees but there are no sources so I’m reluctant to believe!

Scotland / Frances Willocks/Willox b1769c can anyone help find her bapt please?
« on: Thursday 28 December 17 19:15 GMT (UK)  »
SORRY:  :-[ to update the below post I have just realised I asked this question four years ago!! I did get a lot of helpful info re the name etc and area of Scotland she may have come from (Aberdeen/Kilmarnock) but no one actually found a baptism. I will leave it here just in case any further info has been released in the last four years that anyone can provide. I appreciate that this may just be one of those dead ends though  :'(

Hi!

My 4 x Great grandmother was named Frances Willocks (Willox) and was born around 1789 in Scotland. She married three times (John Newton, Alexander Mercer and John Neville) and lived mostly in Preston Lancashire. Her father was called George. I would love to find her baptism and hopefully her mother’s name and siblings. She died in 1863 aged 74 hence the estimation of her birth year.
I would love any further information about her early life.
Thank you so much.  :)

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: Lettice Hayhurst - looking for bapt c.1818

Oooh thanks so much for all this guys! No I don’t have their death certificates. I should perhaps order them.
I do have Blackburn Kenyon’s in my tree but they are on my mums side and these Fish/Hayhurst are on my dad’s side! I have wondered if there could be some connection because as you say it’s quite a commitment to take on three orphan children but I haven’t found a link as yet.
I hadn’t realised that the 1841 address was an institution and I don’t know who the other two people in the household are. I did wonder if Oliver Hirst may have been  mistranscribed and he could be a Hayhurst but no evidence for this.

I’ve even tried searching ancestry for a John Hayhurst living in Blackburn of around the right age who is a grocer in 1841 but it’s too hard!
