Cumberland / Re: Catherine Carnaughan/Carnaphen/Carnaffin

Thank you all for your contributions. It was such an unusual name - but I think that makes it a bit harder to track as there were so many variations as to the spellling.

I've got quite a bit to go on now. I won't be able to get down to it for a week or two as we will be away, but then I plan to focus on this line and see what I can get together.

I'll certainly report back if I have anything of interest. Thanks so much again.

Thanks Carnaffan :)

I am now spurred on to revisit that side of my tree to see if there are any connections with that area.

Many thanks

Thanks very much for your reply. I have trawled through Ancestry's non conformist records and Findmypast's parish records and also the LDS records at Kew - all with no result.

I must now assume that the family is chapel. Ah well...

Wales / Baptisms 1860/61 Cwmbach,Aberdare and Tredegar
« on: Monday 05 May 14 08:21 BST (UK)  »
Please can anyone advise where I can find/search the baptism records for Cwmbach, Aberdare and Tredegar in 1860/1861.

I am looking for the baptism of John Edwards, son of Thomas Edwards and Ann. He was born in Cwmbach, Aberdare, but the baptism might have been in Tredegar.

It is probably Non-Conformist.

Any pointers gratefully received.

Please, is there any  chance that anyone is able to look up these files which are listed as being at the East Sussex Records Office at Lewes?
I don't know how easy this would be, so please only do so if no trouble .... Many thanks in advance.

Thanks so much for your help.

I'll get the certificate first to check I am not off on (yet another) wild goose chase with this man.

Thanks again.
