If anyone can offer a guess at Edwins Parents or other children for me

Isnt it better to purchase a certificate or two, and be sure you are following the right line, rather than "guess" and possibly end up with a meaningless tree that is a list of non-linked names, completely incorrect?

Edwins marriage cert will give a fathers name and occupation hopefully.
That, coupled with what else you know from the gravestone, might help you find him in 1901 and 1911 censuses.
In turn leading to the correct birth registration , his birth cert then hopefully confirming parentage and giving mothers maiden name.

As to his children, mothers maiden name is shown in the index after 1911. So it will be a case of looking for  births with surname Paget and mothers maiden name Hale.

Anything I have guessed at has been written down and not put onto my tree. Because it's a guess. Thus why I came here for some constructive help. :)

The birth year is off of his grave, (I assume these are correct?)

The Edwin Paget born in Clutton is ruled out as his birth was in 1897.

So its either Maidenhead or Market Lavington I guess!

I am kind of erring away from anyone with middle names as my granddad and all of his children don't have middle names. Just makes me feel like it's a family thing not to have them?!

On the Maidenhead census for 1911 the parents are Edwin and May. (And they have beautiful handwriting!)

UPDATE: I've just ruled out the Maidenhead one as he got married in Maidenhead in 1927. (Whereas my mine married in 1925 and stayed married until death.) So it is the no middle names Devizes family.

Thank you for helping me narrow it down everyone! Now to find the other children....

Thanks for your help everyone :)

Edit: Yep, bought the 1911 census and his parents are indeed WH and Annie. Guess they had middle names at some point then! Wonder why they stopped?

You know, I've just realised I'm not actually sure he was even born in Devizes!

Wiltshire / Edwin Paget 1898-1972

Hello everyone.

I'm trying to find out the parents of Edwin Paget. He was born 1898 around Devizes and passed away 23/04/1972.

He married a Florence Mary Hale in 1925 in Swindon.

He had a son called Dennis Paget born 1939 near Wallingford.

If anyone can offer a guess at Edwins Parents or other children for me?! I think he had at least 2 other sons.

Dennis Paget is my grandad :) I know that Florence and Edwin are both buried near Swindon and Dennis lives near Swindon as well.

I've got back to 1700s for the rest of my family, but grandads family is just stumping me.

Any help would be most appreciated.

(I have been guessing at an Ernest Albert Paget and Elizabeth Ellen Paget (born Mills) but I can't really prove any of it!)

Wiltshire Completed Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 lookup for Great/Little Bedwyn Wilts

Hi there,

I realize this is a really old post but I also have the Norris' from Great Bedwyn in my family tree.
I don't believe it was a remarry because of the childrens ages overlapping from both families.

I do belive Hannahs children, Sarah and Elizabeth were born out of wedlock.
On Elizabeths marriage cetificate (to a William Mills in 1854) She lists a Charles Thomas as her father.

The Willliam on the census is her father, not her husbands (as she didn't have one!)

Hannah is my 5th great grandmother :)

Great Bedwyn from 1650 - 1950  is just a mass of Norris'. The great great grandparents of them all were all siblings and they just all stayed there having children for generations! A Pyramid of Norris'!

I was going to private message you, but I'm afraid I couldn't find the option. If you happen to know how to, feel free to message me if you want to discuss the norris' further.
