In 1874 Jane Brookie married William Alfred Lumsden NZBDM.

Who is Jane Prisk nee Brookie from the Matchless? #Edit Jane Lumsden became Jane Prisk. Findagrave Bulls cemetery. ((Perhaps the Prisks were from the Matchless))

Agnes Barbara Brookie
youngest daughter of William Brookie of Bulls married H.E Snellgrove. The best man and attendants were Lumsdens at this wedding. Paperspast.

William and Jane BROOKIE (BROCKIE) and children Alexander and Jane.

Ian C

William Brookie arrive according to his obituary on the Westminster in 1865 not 1856?

Edited: I see you know this already

Extra Edit Obituary says he resided in Wellington for four years and arrived in Bulls with a toddler daughter.  Wouldn't Barbara Ross Brockie be the toddler. Where was 8? Year old Jane(if born in 1852?

Travelling People / Re: Looking for HOLMES information, and possibly SEAGO

I am also interested in Muriel's side, as her father was Frederick John Flaaman SEAGO, an unusual name..  from Norfolk.  That is a brick wall after him.  His birth certificate also said flaxman apparantly.  He was a 'marine engine driver', and was employed on several small Minelayer ships, of which I know there were 5 at least.  His mother was Emily/Emma Seago, no named father but on his ship records says John.  Frederick married Jane YOUNGS, father Robert YOUNGS.

There is this Geni profile for Frederick John Flaxman Seago?
https://www.geni.com/people/Frederick-Seago/6000000179598032461

In the Gro he was registered as Frederick John Flaxman Seago with a - where the mother's maiden name is normally placed.

That is quite progressive, the children would have been recorded as base born (or something) if it wasn't a legal marriage. I would think their would be a marriage contract somewhere!

I am looking for anyone who can find her birth details.
She married George Foster and after her release was gold digging with her family at northern Victoria Australia when she met her death.

Proceedings Before Coroners at Muckleford Victoria 4th July 1855.
Twelve 'good and lawful men' ;
John Walker; George Woolhead; Edward Taylor; James Hill; Richard Martin; Thomas Adams; Edward Williams; David Burnet; William Gill; James Marks; Isac Digney, concluded that Jane Foster (nee Conroy) that;
"The deceased came by her death from injuries received by falling into a hole at Muckleford on the 26th June while in a state of drunkeness"
The 'hole' was a gold mine.
Jane Foster (nee Conroy) had her trial at Longford for vagrancy in 1829 and was transported in 1830.
It is stated that her year of birth was 1809 and her native place was Roscommon.
Her death certificate stated that her father was Michael Conroy.

There is a geni profile that names her mother as Ellen. I wonder where that information is sourced from. Jane was tried at Longford (Townland) could her Catholic baptism be near here?

Thankyou Manukarik, it seems like the best option price wise.

Thankyou so much Sparret, Cando and Majm.

I did not know where in Australia he passed.

All we know is some type of machine accident.

Also not being able to locate the registration did mean we could not order the death certificate and pay for it.

How interesting he changed his name.

Very confusing

Paul Robert Glentworth died 15 May 1961 (findagrave)
And
Brian Donald Glentworth died 10th May 1961 (billiongraves)

How would you find the index entry for either of these men at vicbdm?

It appears they are in the same grave? I can't find either in a record outside of Melbourne General Cemetery.
