Hi Bridget,

My ancestors were from Cork - in the Fermoy area I believe.   Have you ever come accross the surname  GYNANE ?   It's quite unusual.  If you or anyone has info please post.   I believe the original Irish spelling was Guinane

A you Paul!!!

You must have picked a bad day to visit New Brighton. You should know that there's plenty of talent around Merseyside.

And, yes Andy (Alan to you) Ball is a lovely feller - if it hadn't been for his programme you were featured on this week I wouldn't have ever known about rootschat.    I could at this moment  be eating, showering, ironing, having a face pack(!), instead I'm stuck here again.    Sod it, I've got a glass of wine and my cigs -I'll stay here a bit longer!!!!!      Great site.

I was really made up to hear about your site on R. Merseyside today.
I'd never heard of rootschat before.

I'd only been logged on for 30mins before I found an amazing amount of information re my family name - Gynane.

Only trouble is,  how do I tear myself away from the monitor to do things like
eat?!!

This sounds like my Birth family !!!   _  Gynane

Will check my files tonight and get back to you.  Sometime since I checked, but
Gynanes (same first names )  had connections in Ireland (Fermoy, Cork)
Shrewsbury, Neston/Parkgate (Cheshire), India, Liverpool & Little Sutton (Cheshire)
