My 2xggf, James Allen, lived at Bronith Farm in 1851 and at Bronith in 1841 and 1861. He was the custodian or similar of Bronith Chapel.

I found sisters, Mary and Margaret WARD, born Firbank, living together on the 1851 census with their mother Catharine.  Could be William's sisters and mother.  This Catharine WARD is on the 1841 with the WOOF family at Gill, Firbank.  Listed are John and Ann WOOF.  John WOOF married Ann WARD, Ann is probs another sister of William c1796.
I cant find any baptisms for these 4 issue (William, Margaret, Mary, Ann), although there is this one for Agnes WARD, 31 May 1801 at Kirkby Lonsdale to James and Catharine.  She passed the same year.

I would suggest that "WOOF" is a mis-understanding of "WAUGH", But the rest of this thread helps me with my own tree.

Joseph Hopley was my great great grandfather.

1841) 15, Joseph Hoppley was a Male Servant to Daniel Biggs at Abbey Sheepcott, Clehonger
1851)Joseph Hoply was a Blacksmith Journeyman visiting James Davies at Gorsty Common
m) 1854 Q1 Abergavenny, Monmouthshire 11A 71 (spelt HAPLEY)
1861) 40, at Gorsty Common, Clehonger
1871) 45, at Gorsty Common, Clehonger
1881) 58, at Gorsty Common, Clehonger
Tomb at Clehonger, aged 57 years

I am having difficulty discovering anything about his parents, Joseph Hopley and Elizabeth Morgan. Elizabeth died in 1829, but Joseph just disappears unless I have missed him in the Clehonger monumental inscriptions.

Norrie

I am looking for details of and a photograph of a headstone at Northall. The principle names are Alexander TYTLER and Mary STONE but there are several other names. Alexander died in 1908 and Mary in 1905.

Thank you in advance for any help.
