I wonder if this is Richard and Margaret HUGHES in 1852 - of Parramatta St, he is a horse and corn dealer.

Also in 1854:

in 1856 (neglecting to support her and 2 children, presumably Clifford - born 1841, and Alfred whose birth I can't see)

Alfred’s parents, Richard Hughes and Margaret Gleeson married in 1851 in the Tamworth area.

Having seen your new request on the General Useful links board, to which we can't reply, in anticipation of it being moved to the Australia board, I'll just add here that the marriage of Richard HUGHES and Margaret GLEESON was at the Scots Church, Pitt St, Sydney (Presbyterian). The code next to the marriage on the NSW bdm index for District is "QC". Registration number 210/1851 V1851210 80.

Be cautious about adopting someone else's research. Always best to do your own, though you can use other trees as a starting point - they are often incorrect and need verifying.

Hello Linda and welcome to RootsChat.

Unfortunately David (NetleyGuy) has not been active on here since his first post in 2012. If he still has the same email address he will receive notification of your post. I'm sure he'll be happy to hear from you.

Family History Beginners Board / Re: The extensive BARFOOT family
« on: Tuesday 16 April 24 02:43 BST (UK)  »
Had to skim  through the whole thread again to refresh my memory, though I'm still trying to remember the detail of this complicated family!

So Emma does say her father is Samuel BEND - is she " Fanny" who for some reason has deceided to call herself by her sister's name? Or is there another Samuel BEND?

At least George LOMAS does appear to be the one Ladyhawk found with father William LOMAS who married Jane Hyde TURNER.

Modified to strike through - think I was getting mixed up, previously I think you said Fanny was the daughter of Samson BEND. So Emma BARFOOT (nee BEND) is not one of Samson's daughters, but names her father Samuel BEND.

South Africa / Re: Van Hille / Van Hulle family

Welcome to RootsChat Jakes01.

Not seeing any records online in South Africa - There is this Rosemary Van HULLE who died in 2010, a daughter of Don and Dorothy Van HULLE. Not in South Africa, but is this the right family?
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/105659060/rosemary-j.-vanhulle

If this is the right family, Don was born 30 July 1921 in Illinois, son of Peter Van HULLE and Mary (nee CAUWENBERGE) - parents born in Belgium. Donald Julius Van HULLE died 30 Nov 1989.

As you have discovered, Ancestry and findmypast have different coverage of original images. It's often worthwhile checking before subscribing to see if a particular area is covered by a particular subscription site.

Modified to add:
Are you using the "Card Catelogue" search on Ancestry to see what is available?
