      Thanks Forfarian

I thought being a pauper would have been something like this. Will contact Ayrshire Archives
Have dealt with them before. They are very good.

         Regards

   Hi CaroleW

Have searched Scotlands People for death without success.

The 1860 deaths are a child and a 33 year old farmer.

The 1862 deaths are 2 children and a widower.

Wife Elisabeth's death in 1867 is in Dreghorn.

Wondered if he died in poorhouse but thought it would probably have been in Ayrshire

       Thanks

Margaret Robb was the sister of my GG/grandmother Martha Robb. She was born in 1843 in Dundonald, Ayrshire.
Her parents James and Elizabeth McLachlan were married in 1838 in Dundonald.
Her mother Elizabeth was a widow and married William James Conway's brother Thomas Conway.

Birth certificate showed both grandmother 's maiden name and married name. Also 2 entries
In Scotlands People but that due to birth not being at domicile address.

Birth took place in January 1918 in Ayrshire, Scotland. Have never seen another entry like this for
   any illegitimate birth.

Ayrshire / Widowed mother
« on: Monday 15 October 18 23:40 BST (UK)  »
My mother was born to my grandmother 3 years after the death of her husband. Birth certificate
did not say illegitimate. In the space for mother, father, date of marriage etc it gives dead husband
details including date of his death and states mother is a widow. Is this normal or was it an over
zealous registrar..
